Powell Images
The photographs in this collection were provided by Ruth Powell of Mountain Dale.
The collection includes many images taken by her father. These are interesting because they are not the typical postcard views we see so often. Mr. Rice was a photographer and his work has provided us with an astonishing collection of images.
The subject matter includes a varied assortment of places including Thurmont, Lewistown, Catoctin Frunace, Mountain Dale, Frederick, Braddock Heights and others. There are many photos of individuals and groups as well as long gone local businesses, churches, homes and landmarks.
My thanks to Mrs. Powell for making this collection available for display.
