Riffles Garage was located on East Main Street and served the community for many years. Brothers Elwood, Junie (Albert, Jr.), and Frank ran the garage and wrecker service. Riffle's was a favorite of many local residents for Texaco gas, vehicle service, wrecker service, and as the neighborhood hang-out. Over the years hundreds of kids stopped at Riffles on the way home from school for a bottle of pop, some candy, or an ice cream treat from the freezer in the office. The garage was originally located at the corner of Frederick Road and South Altamont Avenue and featured a restaurant, gas pumps, and the repair shop.
The building was demolished on Jan. 1, 2006.
