On April 25, 2015, there was a sale of old tools, furniture, farm implements, harnesses, drive belts, nails, shoe heels, bolts, and dozens of other categories of tools and assorted odds and ends that Albert collected or saved over the years. The goods were spread out all along the walkway from the house to the barn and in the field behind the old hog pens. Albert was from a time when everything had value and little was disposed of in the hopes that it would be of use someday. Years ago I watched Albert disassemble the old house that sat along the railroad tracks and store every bit of it he could save in his barn. I think he pulled all the nails he could and straightened them before tossing them in a bucket. This was who he was, and the collection of items sold that day certainly made that evident.
