Thanks to Linda Lewis for providing this great little memory for us to enjoy! How many remember getting our hunting license at Donald Lewis's Sorting Goods store? This hunting license holder belonged to Linda's husband Darrell and he probably pinned to the back of his canvas hunting jacket just like the rest of us. Over the years Donald must have issued thousands of hunting licenses and probably handed out hundreds of the holders! This is a great little piece featuring an advertisement for his sporting goods store.

Hunting licenses were required to be displayed on your person. These license holders could be pinned to your jacket and every year you would just insert the new license. This holder is from Donald Lewis's store on the Square in Thurmont.
