This article taken from the Dec. 12, 1912 edition of the Catoctin Clarion gives an accounting of a Western Maryland RR train wreck at Pen Mar on Dec. 6, 1912. The article mentions five fatalities and several injuries. Interestingly the article identifies several tramps also known as Hobos but does not indicate if they were on either of the trains. Sadly the last paragraph of the article mentions one of the injured found dangling between two of the cars requesting that his legs be cut off so he could die laying on the ground.
