When this postcard was printed Rte 550 was still known as MD81. The telephone number shows the exchange name Crestview 1, with the first two letters CR 1 is 271. I remember being ably to dial only the last four digits of a local number to get through. Later we had to add the 1 then 271 and now we need to dial 10 digits for a local call. I still remember speaking to our operator, Mrs. Wantz when we wanted to make a long distance call.
