H&F RR No 172 pulls away toward Frederick as a Western Maryland unit steams West. The Trolley would meet the WMRR and exchange riders and freight alongside the WMRR main line. This photo was taken in the late 1940's and soon the steam power on the WMRR would be replaced with new diesel powered motive units and the passenger trolley would be gone in 1954.
