It appears the No 41 is stopped in front of a general store. The telephone pole in front of the store has advertisements for starch and other products pasted on it. If you look closely the right front of the car has a sign on it that reads U. S. MAIL. I do not remember seeing a U. S. MAIL sign on another car. It makes perfect sense that the trolley would carry mail, the regular schedule of the trolley would insure rapid and dependable movement of the mail.
