A look inside H&F RR Car No 172 as freight is about to be unloaded and transfered to the Western Maryland RR. Note that the cardboard box at the right is from Fisher Scientific in Silver Spring, MD. Freight intened for locations along the WMRR would be sent from Frederick to Thurmont for the connection East or West. The Hagerstown and Frederick Railroad served as a connection beteween the B&O RR in Frederick and the WM RR line.
