This photo taken on July 13, 1940 shows H&F RR Freight Motor No 5 in the Frederick yards after arriving from Thurmont. No 5 was built in the shops of the Hagerstown and Frederick Railway in 1920 and was used to move freight as shown here. Here she is hooked to a Chesapeake and Ohio box car although she pulled a lot of Western Maryland freight to and from Thurmont. The H&F served as a link from the WMRR to Frederick since the WMRR did not directly service Frederick City.
