This is a Sunpapers photo taken on Sept. 25, 1947. Henry A. Magaha takes a fare from Miss Dorothy Jane Peel, a Hood College senior. The photo caption reads " Miss Dorothy Jane Peel pays her fare. Henry A. Magaha 'rings it up' on an ancient meter." Henry Magaha had been a motorman since 1914.  This is one of the very few clear interior shots of an H&F trolley car. The white lines indicate where the image was cropped for publication. You can clearly see the fare meter, wicker seats and the advertising posters above the seats.  This photo was heavily retouched for publication, particularly in Mr. Magaha's suit, the doorway behind him, details in the wood paneling and fare mechanism telegraph.
