These are documents relating to the purchase of the property from L. R. Waesche and the construction of this home by local builder Joseph Weddle. Sylvester purchased several building lots from L. R. Waesche across Woodland Avenue at the top of Summit Avenue. A large home was built on a portion oif the property and the balance was left as a wooded area known as Sylvester Woods. After his death a ortion oif the woods was purchased by Ernest HAmmaker and he builkt hs residence in want then became knkw as WIndy Woods. The Sylvester home is still sanding and looks mush as it did when it was built. Several families have occupied the home since Hugh Sylvesters death including Thurmont Pharmacist Doctor Henry August.
