This image of the Farmers State Bank in Emmitsburg was taken on June 4, 1958. The bank building looks pretty much unchanged today. To the left of the bank, you can see Orendorff's Store. To the right of the bank was the Slagle Hotel, the building now houses apartments. On the far left corner of the old Slagle Hotel is what looks to be another small business. It has two Coca-Cola signs and a separate set of steps. There is a Ford sedan in front of Orendorff's and a Chevrolet sedan in front of the apartment building.
This image comes from the Lee Black Collection of negatives. Lee was a partner in the Thurmont Photo Studio and kept boxes of negatives after the business closed.
