Col. John Rouzer Documents.

Everyone is familiar with the name Col. John R. Rouzer, he is without a doubt one of the most prominent residents of Mechanicstown and Thurmont. Just the name Rouzer bestowed on him a certain level of prominence being one of the most famous Mechanicstown families. In his life John Rouzer accomplished enough for several men's lives. He was a Civil War Hero, Post Master of Mechanicstown, Maryland General Assemblyman, Deputy Registrar of Wills for Washington DC, a founder of the Thurmont Water Company, and bank director among other positions. This album contains documents belonging to Col. John R. Rouzer. These include his Commission as a LT. in the Maryland Volunteer Company 'B' Infantry and other personal documents and newspaper clippings.
