This detail shows the men and the truck on the right. It looks like these guys are rolling logs off of the flat bed truck onto the saw mill. There is also another piece of machinery under the logs near the truck, a pulley wheel can be seen attached to something. 

A closer view shows that there are at least nine men working here. One at the top left, two at the top right, two standing upright in the center, three at the right behind the wall supports and one on the left seen through the scaffolding. The main posts are not sawn but are trees with the bark removed.

This detail of the left side shows what look to be sawmill control levers. At the left is a pile of slab wood and there are sawn posts in the front center.

President Lyndon Johnson and Ellsworth Bunker, U. S. Ambassador to Vietnam meeting at Camp David on April 4, 1968 to discuss Vietnam and possible peace talks.

The caption reads:  Thurmont, MD, April 9 -- Table Talks -- President Johnson and Ellsworth Bunker, the U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam, talk outdoors today at a glass-topped table at the Presidential Retreat at Camp David, MD. Their discussions on Vietnam were to include the possibility of peace talks. 

This news photo was taken on Sept. 25, 1959 at the entrance to the Catoctin Mountain National Park. Chief Ranger C. E. Shank is speaking with Maurice Johnson from the UPI. The caption says that Mr. Johnson is in his rented car, it is an early Curved Dash Oldsmobile I can't imagine where he would have rented one of those! The photographer was there to cover the Eisenhower- Khrushchev talks at Camp David.

This is the entrance to the National Park where Camp David is located. President Eisenhower and Soviet Premier Khrushchev will meet at Camp David for two full days of talks. 

This photo shows President Lyndon Johnson speaking with two Job Corps recruits at the Job Corps Training Center at Camp Round Meadow. The Job Corps was conceived during the Kennedy administration in 1962 as a program to address high teen unemployment rates. The Job Corps was initiated as the central program of the Johnson Administration's War on Poverty in 1964, part of his domestic agenda known as the Great Society. Sargent Shriver, the first Director of the Office of Economic Opportunity, modeled the program on the Depession-era Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). Established in the 1930s as an emergency relief program, the CCC provided room, board, and employment to thousands of unemployed young people. Since its inception in 1964, Job Corps has served more than 1.9 million young people. Job Corps serves approximately 60,000 youths annually at Job Corps Centers throughout the country.
