Although these units were state of the art in 1970 they pale in comparison to the new ambulances currently in service. These were built on Cadillac bodies and were relatively short compared to the new truck-based units with room to stand up in the back. There was only enough room for one crew member and limited equipment in the back, whereas today's ambulances have much more room for equipment and can accommodate several crew members and the patient. I am not a Cadillac expert but maybe someone can date these units by their grill work.
