This matchbook cover advertises Martin's Esso Station and Diner, on U. S. #15, Thurmont. I would think that this was were Ben's Esso was located, especially with the dinner. Does anyone remember Martin's Esso and if so was it where Ben's was located? I know Ben Overstreet(?) ran the place for many years but I am not sure he was the first owner. There is also an advertisement from 1954 noting that Martin's Mobile Station is now located on Rte 15 just South of Thurmont. I have told that Henry Martin and his son Mehrle built the gas station and dinner on old Rte 15 and that it was eventually sold and became Ben's Esso.
