This is beautiful little image is based on a well-known postcard view of East Main Street in Thurmont. The original postcard is one of J. H. Cassell's many images, this one was slightly enlarged then hand-tinted by Linda Sandagger and reproduced for the Thurmont Historical Society in 1997. The image is printed on heavy paper and was framed. The hand-tinting really brings life to the scene, Linda Sandagger is a wonderful local artist and worked on many projects for the THS. I remember when these were available and somewhere there is one I purchased at one of the THS banquets as a fundraiser. This particular copy was owned by a local family and will remain in local hands.
